A father, friend, advocate, uncle, and veteran reunited with the love of his life, Dr. Margarita Kearns Morales, Sunday, Nov. 5. Richard Kearns was the last child of Charles and Margaret (McCormick) Kearns, brother to Charles, Robert and Jack.
He served his country in Italy at the end of World War II and then again in the Korean Conflict, serving on the security staff of Gen. Dwight Eisenhower at NATO.
Richard attended Susquehanna University, graduated from Dickinson College and received his law degree at the University of Pennsylvania.
Dad loved the practice of law and was an excellent advocate, much of his work was pro bono and not recorded, but remembered. His career included being a founding partner of Caldwell, Clouser & Kearns and concluded with serving as Counsel to the Rules of Evidence Committee of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.
Dad leaves four children who loved him very much, Richard Jr., Margarita, Carlos and Rosalie; granddaughter, Alana; great-granddaughter, Tulsi; his brothers-in-law, Eddie, Jose Juan, Ruben and Gerardo Morales; sisters in law, Tabi and Carmen Rita; nieces and nephews, and indeed everyone who knew him.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 18 from 10-11 am at Beaver Lutheran Church, 18207 Rt. 522, Beavertown followed by a celebration of life service at 11 with Rev. Matthew Schuster officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Beavertown.
