Maxine A. Zook, 71, of Beavertown, passed away with her loving husband by her side on Friday, July 5, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
She was born Nov. 27, 1952, in Lewistown, a daughter of the late Melvern and Arlene (Swartz) Barner. On July 8, 1989, she married Leonard R. Zook, who survives.
Maxine was a graduate of Chief Logan High School and went on to earn an associate's degree from South Hills Business School.
She was a member of New Harvest Brethren in Christ Church in Millerstown.
Maxine worked at the Children's Discovery Daycare Center in Selinsgrove, where she loved working with children.
In addition to her husband, Leonard, Maxine is survived by a daughter, Lakata Hostler; three grandchildren; one sister, Blanche Riden; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Call and Jerome Mitchell; three brothers, John, Ron and Lester Barner; and one sister, Vonnie Ridley.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are by the Kreamer Funeral Home, 130 S. Zechman St., Beavertown.
