Jerry L. Lewis Sr., 78, of rural Middleburg passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at his home.
He was born December 28, 1947 in Danville, a son of the late Edward F. and Elvira M. (Dawson) Lewis. On August 20, 1977 he married the former Catherine L. Reich who preceded him in death on September 5, 2015.
Jerry served his country in the United States Marine Corp from 1965-1969 and was awarded the Purple Heart Medal after being wounded during the Vietnam War. He also served in the Army National Guard from 1980-1999 until his retirement.
He was employed as an aide at the Selinsgrove Center. After retiring from the Selinsgrove Center, he worked at Weis Markets and Ritz Craft.
Jerry loved golf and watching football. Most importantly he loved spending time with his grand and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are two sons, Justin (Kimberly) Lewis and Jerry (Kathryn) Lewis Jr.; one stepdaughter, Karen Knepp; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles W. (Helen) Lewis and Terry Lewis; two sisters, Mary Lewis Eichenlaub and Vickie A. Lewis and Glenn Eberhart; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, Jerry is preceded in death by
five brothers, Edward, Walter, Harry, Richard, and Kenneth Lewis; one sister, Ethel M. Lewis Edwards.
At Jerry's request no services will be held.
Burial will be in St. Peter's Independent Bible Church Cemetery, Beavertown at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are by the Kreamer Funeral Home, 130 S. Zechman St., Beavertown.
