Jerry D. "Red Eye" Edmiston Sr., 80, of McClure, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2024, at his home.
He was born Aug. 20, 1944, in Spring Township, Snyder County, a son of the late Leonard and Evelyn (Treaster) Edmiston. On May 19, 1962, he married the former Wanda L. Romig who survives.
Jerry was a graduate of West Snyder High School.
He was a member of Mount Bethel Church in McClure.
Jerry was a past Master in the Middleburg Masonic Lodge No. 619 F.&A.M.
Jerry worked as an insurance agent and owned and operated Edmiston Insurance Agency in Middleburg.
He enjoyed golfing and lived to hunt and fish, especially with his son Jerry Jr. Jerry especially loved spending time with his grand and great-grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife Wanda of 62 years, are one son, Jerry Jr. (Vicki) Edmiston; two grandchildren, Josh (Jenn) Edmiston and Nikita (Scott Jr.) Bishop; five great-grandchildren, Burke, Reed, Harlow, Dawson and Drew; one brother, Steve (Vanda) Edmiston; one sister, Patricia Bingaman; one sister-in-law, Arlene Edmiston; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, William Edmiston; one sister and brother-in-law, Nancy (Richard) Haines; and one brother-in-law, William Bingaman.
Family and friends will be received Monday, Nov. 18 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Kreamer Funeral Home, 130 S. Zechman St., Beavertown. A masonic service will be held at 11 a.m. followed by the funeral service with Pastor Tad Schlegel officiating.
Burial will follow in Samuel's Church Cemetery, McClure.
