James T Lash

James T. Lash, 77, of rural Middleburg passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born March 5, 1948, a son of the late James W. and Doris J. (Spaid) Lash. On June 18, 2000 he married the former Diane K. Spotts who survives.

James was a graduate of West Snyder High School with the class of 1966.

He started his union apprenticeship in 1969 and graduated from that in 1974, working as a heavy equipment engineer with the IUOE Local 542 operating engineers in Harrisburg for 25 years until his retirement in 1995. After retirement from the union he owned and operated Lash Trucking.

James was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting and fishing.

Surviving in addition to his wife Diane of 25 years is one son, James R. (Christine) Lash; one daughter, Tammy Jo Kratzer and her companion Bruce Ulrich; nine grandchildren, Wesley, Brenee, Sam, Haley, Jaylynn, Brylee, Connor, Austin, Jase; one great-grandson, Roman; numerous stepchildren, Sherry and her companion Jerry, Yvonne, Jessica (Zane), Scott, Alison, Shane (Sandra); numerous other step-grand and great-grandchildren; one brother, Philip (Beverly) Lash; his best friends, Jimmy Furman and Raymond Laudenslager; and his dog, Blister.

James was preceded in death by one brother, Max Lash.

At James' request no services will be held.

Arrangements are by the Kreamer Funeral Home, 130 S. Zechman St., Beavertown.
