McClure, Pennsylvania - Jackie (Jack) Herold Timblin born on March 27, 1935, in Punxsutawney, PA and died December 25, 2025, in Danville, PA at the age 90 years and 9 months. He was the son of the late James Herold Timblin and Pansy Catherine (Gawin) Timblin.
After the Punxsutawney 1936 flood, his family relocated to Rossiter, PA where he lived until age sixteen. The family then moved to Lewistown, PA where Jack graduated from Lewistown High School in 1954.
Jack's early life was challenging; he didn't have the opportunity to participate in sports or extracurricular activities because of needing to work after his mother died. However, this responsibility became one of his greatest blessings. With money he earned working at Snook Gas Station in Lewistown, Jack and his friends pooled their resources to buy a '39 Chevy. During the summer of 1954, they began driving to McClure to visit the local public swimming pool. It was there that Jack met Connie, who was working as a lifeguard. They quickly fell in love and soon married in an intimate ceremony on February 11, 1955, at Mt. Bethel Church in McClure, PA.
In 1959, they began constructing their own house in McClure from the ground up, using blueprints drawn by Jack's father-in-law. Jack worked alongside Connie to complete the house in under two years. Jack was fortunate to share the rest of his life living there with Connie.
Jack spent a couple of years working as a plasterer in Lewistown. Then in classic Jack fashion, he began showing up at his father's workplace at Noerr Motor Freight in 1959, persistently asking for a job every day for two weeks. Eventually, hoping to deter him, they offered Jack a position driving tractor-trailer trucks—even though he had no prior experience. Jack accepted the challenge and worked there for 28 years until the company was sold and reorganized. At the same time, he operated a lawnmower repair business out of his home garage and later ran an Arctic Cat Snowmobile business from the same spot. After leaving Noerr, Jack worked as a forklift operator at True Wood (now Bingaman Lumber) in Kreamer, PA, for eight years before deciding to retire early at age 60.
This was another blessing in his life, allowing him to achieve "snowbird" status. He enjoyed the flexibility to spend winters at a second residence in a retirement community in Lake Wales, FL. For 31 years, he and Connie continued this tradition together, only stopping recently as health concerns made travel too challenging.
Jack's passion for camping with his family began in a borrowed tent. Over time, he and Connie owned many types of motorhomes, nurturing this love for camping in their children, Mike and Jackie—a tradition that continues today. Camping also enabled Jack to pursue another shared interest with Connie: traveling. He was fortunate to explore nearly all of North America, making memories and friends along the way.
Jack loved fishing and was lucky enough not only to own and enjoy many boats throughout his life, but also to have the skill to build two boats himself. Having needed to mature quickly, his enthusiasm for anything with wheels or motors stayed with him into senior hood—just like an eager young boy. He treasured owning and tinkering with various scooters, motorcycles, and similar vehicles. Jack truly appreciated his material possessions, and his family fondly recalls how he would carefully clean and maintain them, often wiping down or washing them nearly every day.
Jack was preceded in death by his sister Judy Seitzinger and nephew Alan Boonie. Jack is survived by his loving wife of 70 years Constance (Connie Spigelmyer) Timblin, two children; Micheal A. Timblin (Paula) and Jackie D. Fetterolf (Mark). Four grandchildren; Heidi Pearce (Drew), Holly Hoy (Bryan), Cody Fetterolf (partner Makenzie), James Fetterolf (Kayla). Ten great-grandchildren; Dyllan and Tristen Woodling, Alton, Jonas, and Goldie Hoy, Jackson Fetterolf, Maggie and Maddie Dressler, Abel Sheaffer and Hudson Fetterolf. Two great-great grandchildren; Silas Woodling, and soon-to-be baby girl Woodling. Sisters; Carol Boonie and Peggy Burkett. And nephew Brian Boonie.
He was a member of Mt Bethel Church of McClure. We find peace in knowing he had accepted Jesus as his Savior, and he will be waiting in Heaven with open arms for his love Connie. In the words of his daughter Jackie, "He had a big personality, and his passing has created a big void in those who knew and loved him."
Family and friends will be received from 1-2 pm on Tuesday, December 30 at the Kreamer Funeral Home, 130 S. Zechman St., Beavertown followed by the funeral at 2 with Pastor Tad Schlegel officiating.
Burial will follow in McClure Union Cemetery.
