George F. "Frank" Briggs, 93, of Beaver Springs, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, at Brookline Manor, Mifflintown.
He was born June 8, 1930, in Lewistown, a son of the late Ralph and Mary (Henry) Briggs. On September 12, 1951, he married the former Margaret Johnson who preceded him in death on April 4, 2012.
Frank attended Orbisonia High School.
He was a member of Beaver Lutheran Church, Beavertown.
Frank worked as a police officer for Spring Township and was a long-haul truck driver for Norwalk Freight Company. He retired from AMP in 1993.
He was a life member of the Beaver Springs Fire Company. Frank enjoyed square dancing, fishing, camping and going for breakfast at the Bread of Life restaurant.
Surviving are two sons, Lewis "Lew" (Stacey) Briggs and Ralph "Ed" Briggs; four grandchildren, Chad, Jason, Jenna and Jayla Briggs; five great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Jay Briggs; a sister, Esther Young.
A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
