E. Jean Steffen, 92, McClure
Our beloved matriarch departed this earth on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at home surrounded by family. She bravely fought cancer for the last 6 months of her life.
She was born January 28th, 1934, to the late Carl and Mary (Snook) Fultz of McClure. She was married to George Steffen, who preceded her in death in 2003. Together they had 3 children, Ruth Ann (Wayne) Snook, Walter “Bub” Steffen (deceased), and Tamra Steffen; grandchildren, Todd (Gay) Paige, Troy (Kim) Paige, Travis (Tara) Paige, Valerie (Jimmy) McGill; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Her sister, Shelva Walter, also survives.
All the grandchildren knew her as Mem, and she always had a warm smile on her face. She loved to crochet, sew, and quilt. She was an avid reader and always had a jigsaw puzzle on her table. Over Mem’s lifetime she touched many lives and created so many happy memories. She will be forever in our hearts and greatly missed by all who knew her.
A graveside service will be held at Black Oak Ridge Cemetery at 3pm on Friday, March 27th, 2026, with Pastor Darvin Reich officiating.
Arrangements are by the Kreamer Funeral Home, 130 S. Zechman St., Beavertown.
