Darlene M. Witmer, 68, of rural Beavertown passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at her home with her loving family by her side after a courageous five-year battle with ALS. Darlene never complained and fought to the very end.
She was born January 18, 1957 in Lewisburg, a daughter of the late Sterril A. and Carrie V. (Brouse) Knepp. On June 23, 1979 she married Robert E. "Bob" Witmer Jr. who preceded her in death on November 2, 2022.
Darlene was a graduate of West Snyder High School.
She was a member of Grace Reformed Church in Troxelville.
Darlene worked as a cafeteria aide at Beaver Adams Elementary School and West Snyder High School. She then went on to work at Conestoga Wood Specialties.
In her free time, she enjoyed going to yard sales, Black Friday shopping, attending local parades and carnivals, swimming in her pool, baking her special angel food cake, gardening, going to church, playing basketball and winning card games against her grandkids, and trips to the beach. Darlene "Aunnie" especially loved attending her grandkids sporting events.
She is survived by two children, Natalie (Barrett) Knepp and Kevin (Phoretta) Witmer; six grandchildren, Logan, Austin (Alyssa), Tristen Witmer, Brynn, Lorynn Knepp, Coby Hoover; two brothers; Melvin and Robert "Bobby" Knepp.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, November 16 from 6-8 pm at the Kreamer Funeral Home, 130 S. Zechman St., Beavertown. The funeral service will be held at 11 am on Monday, November 17 at Grace Reformed Church, Troxelville with Rev. Dwight Rine officiating.
Burial will follow in Troxelville Union Cemetery.
Following the graveside committal service, a luncheon will be provided at Grace Reformed Church for a time of sharing and fellowship.
