Anna M Reitz

Anna M. Reitz, 95, of Beaver Springs passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2025 at Richfield Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Snyder County on June 14, 1930. She was the 2nd child of Glace and Edna (Camp) Haines. On June 14, 1952 she married Earl D. Reitz in St. Peter Lutheran Church in Dornsife. They were married for 44 years until Earl's death on Nov. 20, 1996.

Anna was a 1949 graduate of Beaver Vocational High School.

During her high school years, she was employed at Fitzgerald's and Leo's Restaurant. She then moved to Harrisburg where she was employed in the nursing field and attended Thompson College at night. After 8 ½ years she moved back to the McClure area with her husband and owned and operated Reitz's Restaurant for about 6 years.

In 1965 she started her career in the trucking industry. She was the first full time employee of Miller's Transportation Inc. After almost 25 years in the trucking industry. She retired and helped care for her mother until her death in 1999.

She had a special friend "John" for 22 years and she spent many enjoyable times with him. They had a lot of the same interests.

Anna is survived by sisters, Mary (Charles) Schlein, Esther (Russell) Walborn, Shirley M. Fisher; two brothers, Dale Haines and Leo (Betty) Haines; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother; her father; two brothers, Harvey and Richard Haines; her sisters, Margaret Jones and Barbara Haines.

Anna will be remembered as a generous and friendly person.

A viewing will be held on Friday, August, 22 from 10-11 am at the Kreamer Funeral Home, 130 S. Zechman St., Beavertown followed by the funeral service at 11 with Rev. Kathy Mercado officiating.

Burial will follow in St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Red Cross Cemetery, Dornsife.
